My friends, barring a major injury, a world catastrophe, or a miracle, I just don't think any of us feel Cleveland stands a chance against Boston in this series. On paper, this is a team that has dropped four of the the last six straight up, while only covering one of those six outings. They were taken down by the Eastern Conference’s top-seeded, Boston opponent in Game 1 at the TD Garden, 120-95. Looking at the Celtics last eight games, in which they went 7-1 SU, with the one defeat coming at the hands of Miami in Game 2 of the opening round, they have absolutely shredded every opponent. It doesn't matter they're double-digit favorites, they are 5-1 ATS during that span laying 10 or more points. However, this is a boatload of points, sports fans, it really is. I mentioned at the top of this analysis the term "on paper". Basketball is not played on paper. Do I think the Celtics can beat this team by as many points as they want? Yes, I do! However, the Cavaliers were embarrassed in the series opener and must at least come back here and save a little face. Please understand Boston is not only a talented team, they are a smart, well-coached team. They know they don't need to blow out Cleveland here to get the win. They also know they can start pulling their starters when the game is in hand. I don't think this team needs to win by this much of a pointspread. I really do feel this value and taking the underdog here. Take the Cavaliers. Thank you.

Cavaliers/Celtics- UNDER- The top-seeded Celtics pulled away in the second half of Game 1 to earn a 120-95 victory on Tuesday. The fourth-seeded Cavaliers have failed to score 100 points in six of their eight playoff games. Cleveland was held to 15 points in the second quarter and trailed 59-49 at halftime. Boston led by 15 points after three quarters and opened the fourth on a 10-2 run. The series shifts to Cleveland for Game 3 (Saturday) and Game 4 (Monday). The Celtics won two of their three games against the Cavaliers during the regular season, but Cleveland won the only game it played at home. Play UNDER!

Game 1 of this series was played at a considerably faster pace than I expected but that contest still only went 'over' the total by a handful of points. I'm anticipating a lower-scoring affair in Game 2 on Thursday. Cleveland got out of its element, hoisting up 90 field goal attempts, connecting on only 37 of them. We've seen an alarming trend emerge as the Cavaliers have knocked down 38 or fewer field goals in seven of their last eight games. On the flip side, the Celtics have now held six straight opponents to 38 or fewer made field goals. Note that the 'under' remains 41-29 in the Cavs last 70 games as a road underdog including a 14-10 mark in that situation this season. The 'under' is also 47-31 in their last 78 contests when seeking revenge for a loss in which their opponent scored 110 points or more, as is the case here, including a 16-9 record this season. Meanwhile, the 'under' is 25-22 in the Celtics last 47 games following consecutive home wins including an 11-8 mark this season.
